Alvin E. Rueter

LINCOLN -- Alvin E. Rueter, 87, died Wednesday (March 9, 2005) in Lincoln.
He was born Oct. 23, 1917, to Lawrence and Elizabeth Neuhart Rueter in Wauneta. He graduated from Wauneta High School in 1935.
On April 15, 1941, he married Irma Bricker in Atwood. He farmed in Hayes County for 47 years. After retiring in April of 1991 they moved to North Platte. They most recently moved to Lincoln in 2004.
He was a volunteer at North Platte Hospital and was a member of the Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Olga McBride and Carolyn Davis; two brothers, Frank and Carl; and two great-grandsons, Geoffrey and Brayden.
Survivors include his wife, Irma of Lincoln; two daughters, Marilyn Kay and husband, Richard Burkland of Lincoln and Janet and husband, Allan Eastwood of Callaway; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Darby of North Platte, Hattie Rosetti and Lucille and husband, Ric Lee.
Services are Saturday, 1 p.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel of North Platte with the Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Burial will be in Wauneta Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends today, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
