Marlene A. Adair

Marlene Ann Adair entered her eternal rest on Dec. 28, 2004, following a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, she showed amazing courage, spirit and determination.
Marlene was born on Feb. 9, 1947, in Benkelman, to Bob and Marian (Jackson) Owens. Following her graduation in 1965, Marlene attended Kearney State College and then moved to Denver, Colo., where she lived until 1974, when she moved to California.
On Nov. 27, 1976, Marlene married Kenneth A. Adair, Jr., from San Francisco and, in 1978, they moved to Eugene, Ore., where Ken established his own wholesale battery business and Marlene worked at Oregon Medical Group.
Marlene leaves to mourn her loss her wonderful husband, Ken; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Jeff Maxfield from Taylorville, Ill.; sister, Janet Owens from Lincoln; nephews and nieces, Todd, Eric and Jennifer Maxfield from Illinois; Sarah Meisenbach from Kansas City, Molly and Brandon Moller from Lincoln and great-niece, Sydney Meisenbach from Kansas City. Many other family members still residing in Nebraska will also mourn her passing. Additionally, her many friends, neighbors and co-workers in Eugene will miss Marlene's smile and humor.
A celebration of Marlene's life was Jan. 8, 2005, in Eugene. At Marlene's request, memorials are to be sent to the Hospice of Sacred Heart, 1255 Hilyard Street, Eugene OR 97401. Also at her request, Marlene's ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean and also in Nebraska with her parents.
