APPLE VALLEY, Calif. -- Velda D. Schandler, 79, died Friday (Oct. 1, 2004) at her home in Apple Valley, Calif.
She was born March 2, 1925, in Victorville, Calif. Her parents were Loren Daniels and Maude Dewese McAmis.
She and her late husband, Marlin, were owners and operators of the former Schandler Funeral Home in Atwood and a furniture store.
Survivors include four daughters, Marlene Brock and husband, Steve of Apple Valley, Calif., Jackie Jumper of Victorville, Calif., Terri Herrman and husband, John of O'fallon, Mo., and Tammi Rogers of Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.; sisters, Wilma and husband, John Mansfield of La Mesa, Calif., Jane Hilton of Whittier, Calif., and Jo Bailey of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister-in-law, Virginia Chvatal and husband, LaVern of Atwood; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The casket will remain closed.
A parish vigil and rosary will be said Friday, 7 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Atwood.
