BOLINBROOK, Ill. -- Suzanne Irene (Wolters) Hodge, 57, died Friday (Aug. 6, 2004) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Bolinbrook, Ill.
She was born Jan. 6, 1947, at McCook, to Herman "Pete" and Joan Wolters. She spent her youth in Rawlins County, Kan., and graduated from Atwood High School. She earned a bachelor's degree at Boise State University and was a civil servant working for the federal government for many years.
On June 6, 1980, she married Gardner C. "GC" Hodge Jr. in Aurora, Colo. Because of his service with the U.S. Air Force they lived in several states, including Mississippi, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Joseph F. Vap II and wife, Melissa J. Wines of Louisville, Ky., and Robert F. Vap and wife, Louetta of Nicholsville, Ky.; sisters, Sally Wolters of Topeka, Kan., Jane Brubaker and husband, Gary of Bird City, and Jill Wolters and husband, Michael Turner of Topeka; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Williams Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Mason officiating. Interment will be at the Atwood Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday, noon-9 p.m., at the funeral home with family receiving friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m.
