OBERLIN -- Elfie May Brown, 90, died Thursday (June 10, 2004) at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was born Nov. 20, 1913, to Herbie Cotting and Clara Frances (Wyatt) Watkins in the Sherman Township in Decatur County. She was raised in Sherman Township and attended rural school. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1933.

On Dec. 17, 1934, she married Ralph J. Brown, in Oberlin. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin, the Alpha Kappa Club and Modern Woodmen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; infant son, Evan Kent Brown; brothers, Edward, George and Dean; and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Robert J. and wife, Mary Brown of Omaha and Larry and wife, Ellen Brown of Concord, Calif.; one daughter, Clara Hoffman of Thornton, Colo.; sister, June and husband, Cecil Lafferty of McCook; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at the United Church of Oberlin with the Revs. Nolan and Barbara Pierce officiating. A private interment will be in Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
