NORTON, Kan. -- Audrey L. Craig, 81, died Friday (June 4, 2004) at Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kan.
She was born May 5, 1923, to William and Winnie (Frye) Wyatt in Norton County, Kan. She was raised in Norton and attended Norton County Schools.
She married Raymond Hixon and the couple divorced.
On March 14, 1967, she married Bill Craig in Boulder, Colo. She lived in the Denver, Colo., area and moved many times to Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and back to Norcatur, Kan., in 1998. She was an owner and operator of a furniture and appliance store in Denver, Colo.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Raymond Hixon; and three brothers, Donnie, Ivan and Lewis Wyatt.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Norcatur; two sons, Charles Hixon and wife, June of Norcatur and Dennis Hixon and wife, Coleen; three step-sons, Clayton Craig of Denver, Shannon Craig and wife, Norma of Denver and Douglas Craig and wife Mary, also of Denver; daughter, Marcia Hixon of Phillipsburg, Kan.; three step-daughters, Robin Caboronet and husband, Jim of Salem, Mo., Sherri Lee Shurtless and husband, Royce of Denver and Gwen Craig of Denver; brother, Melvin Wyatt and wife, Barbara of Denver; three sisters, Marie Jones of Norton, Eileen Applegate of Phoenix, Ariz., and Shirley Hackancapp and husband, Harold of Denver; one grandchild and 13 step-grandchildren.
Services are Friday, 10 a.m., at Norcatur Cemetery with the Rev. Terrill Worthington officiating. Inurnment will also be in Norcatur Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Norcatur News Sheet or the Norcatur Cemetery Fund.
