John Fidler passed away May 8, 2004, while vacationing with his wife, Peggy, in Nice, France.

He was born May 8, 1938, in Cambridge, beloved son of the late E.H. and Elizabeth Fidler. John held a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the Black Hill State University in Spearfish, S.D., a master's degree in microbiology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and a MBA in hospital administration from the University of Florida at Gainsville.

John had an illustrious 30-year career in hospital and healthcare administration. He was a devoted and loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Burtch) Fidler and daughter, Christina Fidler of Palmdale, Calif.; brothers, Paul Fidler of Hastings, Jerry Fidler of Willows, Calif., and Ken Fidler of Deadwood, S.D.; sisters, Delores Groothuis of Kokomo, Ind., Winifred Rodarmel of Spearfish, S.D., Ernestine Reeves of Akron, Ohio and Judy Fidler of Deadwood, S.D.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Fidler and Ronnie Fidler.

A memorial service is Wednesday, May 19, 11 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church, 105 East E Street, McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating.
