Super week: Super Bowl, Super Tuesday, Shaq vs. LeBron, wardrobe malfunctions
Greetings to all.
What an exciting week.
The Patriots won the Super Bowl on a game winning field goal.
Shaquille O'Neal defeated LeBron James in their first NBA matchup.
The Super Tuesday primaries were very revealing. Maybe not as revealing as say, Janet Jackson, but how about that John Kerry!
Let's not forget all of the snow lying on the ground. I was able to go sledding yesterday for the first time in a few years.
To start off, the Super Bowl was one the best games all season, and it definitely ranks with some of the top Super Bowls ever.
I must discuss the outrage over the halftime show. To get to the bottom of the fiasco I watched the tape of Justin Timberlake exposing Janet Jackson.
The evidence was inconclusive, so I had to watch it again.
Then again.
And again.
After my exhaustive research, I concluded that it really was Janet Jackson, not a body double. Everyone may rest over the topic now.
Back to the game. The quarterbacks from both teams performed tremendously. I hated to see the Panthers' Jake Delhomme lose.
But, the Patriots‚ Tom Brady was named the game's MVP for obvious reasons. Brady went 32-for-48 for 354 yards and three touchdowns.
Those are insane numbers for a quarterback in the Super Bowl, in fact his completions were a Super Bowl record.
The Bonehead award goes to Carolina's head coach John Fox. Fox decided to go for the two-point conversion twice.
And failed both times. His decisions came back to haunt him when Patriots‚ kicker Adam Vinatieri nailed the game-winning field goal.
Last night in the NBA, LeBron James faced off against Shaquille O'Neal for the first time. Shaq poured in 37 points and claimed victory in overtime.
James still put in a valiant effort with 32 points. Things just don't seem to be going James‚ way as of late.
He was snubbed by the NBA All-Star game, and his Cavs are sitting 16 1/2 games behind Central Division leader Indiana.
To give them their due, they are climbing out of the cellar, slowly.
The most compelling story of the week was the Super Tuesday primaries. The Johns -- Kerry and Edwards -- seem to be the front-runners at this point.
The only reason I tuned in to the coverage was because I thought Super Tuesday was promotion for the college basketball game. But, I did get my politics tuned up for this election year.
Fortunately, I didn't fall behind in other news coverage while watching results from the primaries being announced.
About every 15 minutes the networks would break in with the latest breaking news on wardrobe malfunctions.
