Anna 'Ann' Carmelita (Holbein) Rueter
WAUNETA -- Anna "Ann" Carmelita (Holbein) Rueter, 91, died Monday (Dec. 8, 2003).
She was born Aug. 16, 1912, in Eustis. She graduated from Eustis High School in 1930 and entered Midland College in Fremont. In 1931, she began studies at Nebraska State Teachers College in Kearney. She taught in rural schools in the Eustis area and in Naponee, Wauneta and Kimball.
On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Carl E. Rueter. The couple made their home on a farm near Wauneta. She lived in Wauneta for over 60 years, most recently as a resident of Heritage of Wauneta Nursing Home.
She was a 4-H leader and a Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1965;one brother, Fred; and two sisters, Helen Kugler and Vera Montgomery.
Survivors include her son, Brice of Wauneta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are Saturday, 10 a.m. (MST), at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.
Visitation is Friday, 2-6 p.m. (MST), at Liewer Funeral Home of Imperial.
Memorials may be given in her name to the donor's choice.
