GALVESTON, Texas -- Gordon Thomas Brannan, 40, died Friday (Jan. 18, 2002) at the University of Texas Medical Center in Galveston.

He was born Oct. 9, 1960, at Akron, Colo., to Gary E. and Janet L. (Brinkmann) Brannan and attended school in Yuma and Aurora, Colo. In the fall of 1973, the family moved to Stratton. He graduated from Stratton High School in 1980.

On December 19, 1992, he married Jean Pflum in Kearney. He worked in the construction trades in Nebraska, Arizona and New Mexico, and later worked on a shrimp boat in the Gulf of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Gale; and his grandparents, Raymond and Marie Brinkmann, Ellsworth and Gracie Brannan and Glen Felt.

Survivors include his mother, Janet and step-father, Edward Felt of Stratton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The memorial service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. CST, at Community United Methodist Church in Stratton with the Rev. Norman Prather officiating. A private inurnment will take place later at the Akron Cemetery in Akron.

Memorials may be given in his name.
