TRENTON -- Allen Dewane Anderson, 69, died Friday (Jan. 18, 2002) at Community Hospital of McCook.
He was born May 12, 1932, at Trenton to Henry and Dorothy Lena (Cole) Anderson. He grew up in Trenton where he graduated from Trenton High School in 1950.
He entered the U. S. Army on Jan. 29, 1953, serving in the combat zone during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the service he returned to Trenton where he began working construction.
On April 28, 1962, he married Verba Scott. They lived in Nebraska and Oklahoma before returning to Trenton. He retired in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joseph, Elvin and James; and three sisters, Anna Louise Anderson, Marie King and Lola Heble.
Survivors include his wife, Verba of Trenton; three sons, Dewane Anderson, David Anderson, and Douglas Anderson, all of Trenton; one daughter, Catharine Lamorie and husband, Patrick of Thornton, Colo; three brothers, Charlie Anderson and wife, Jean of McCook, Robert Anderson and wife, Lyla of Brighton, Colo., and Clyde Anderson of Trenton; three sisters, Ellen Barlow and husband, Alvin of Culbertson, Bertha Jones and Evelyn Tompkins, both of Trenton; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of God in Trenton with Johnny Walker officiating. Interment with military honors will be at the Cornell Cemetery in Trenton. Memorials may be given in his name.
