Homer Elwin Hoff

WAUNETA -- Homer Elwin Hoff, 85, died Monday (Jan. 21, 2002) at Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva.

He was born May 14, 1916, at Wauneta to Amil W. and Clara (Burham) Hoff. He graduated from Wauneta High School in 1934, and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He returned to Wauneta and became a lifelong farmer.

On May 19, 1940, he married Emma Siegel. She died in 1998. He had resided at Heritage Crossings in Geneva since September 2000.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one sister, Evelyn Acton; one brother-in-law, Ernest Propps; and a sister-in-law, Irma Propps.

Survivors include three daughters, Kay and husband, R. Keith Christenson of Clay Center, Ann and husband, Ron Prior of Cabot, Ark., and Sue and husband, Jerry Rose of Superior; one brother, Clyde Hoff and wife, Lois of Wauneta; two brothers-in-law, Ron Acton, and Lavern Denker and wife, Elinor, all of Wauneta; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at United Methodist Church of Wauneta with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-6 p.m. at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
