YORK -- Rosa M. Loschen, 86, died Thursday (Jan. 24, 2002) at Hearthstone Care Center in York.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1915, in Bladen to August and Lucy (Hensel) Hubert. She went to school in Bladen and began working for families with new babies.

On May 19, 1935, she married Edd A. Loschen in Ashgrove. They lived in Upland, Smithfield, Kenesaw, and Kearney. She has been a resident of York since 1999.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edd; four brothers, Richard, Alvin, Paul, and Carl; and one sister, Charolette.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Darroll Loschen and wife, Donna of York, and Terry and his wife, Carolyn of Grand Island; one daughter, Kathy Loschen of Omaha, formerly of McCook; two sisters, Ann (Milford) Swedlund of Hastings, and Bertha Cook of North Platte; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 2:30 p.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. North Sherill officiating. Interment will be at the Kearney Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday 4 - 8 p.m., at the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Memorials may be given in her name at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney.
