Waldo Waid 'Andy' Anderson
Waldo Waid "Andy" Anderson was born February 8, 1936, and died March 12, 2002, at his home in Pearland, Texas.
Andy is survived by his mother, Melba Anderson; his wife, Beth Bradley Anderson; and his daughters, Kirsten Burress, Katherine Tanner, Cynthia Easler and Corey Fox.
Andy was born in Traer, Kan., on his family's farm. He attended Kansas University and Kansas University School of Medicine in Kansas City.
He made his career as a broadcasting engineer in radio and television. He was the director of engineering for the Rocky Mountain Corporation for Public Broadcasting at Channel 6 KRMA in Denver, Colorado, and later the Director of Engineering and Operations at Houston PBS/KUHT in Houston, Texas. He received the prestigious PBS Engineering Excellence Award for his lifetime achievements with PBS last year.
He will be remembered as a quiet, kind, humorous and articulate man, a loving husband and father who was a teacher by example, and a student of life who read, traveled and loved life and people.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 23, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas.
