Mary C. Francis

OBERLIN -- Mary C. Francis, 95, died Thursday (April 18, 2002) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Feb. 19, 1907, to John and Artie (Barnes) Stastney in Oberlin. She grew up in Oberlin and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1927.

On April 19, 1930, she married Stewart Francis in Oberlin. She owned Francis Furniture and worked at the Bargain Box.

She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stewart; and one sister, Martha Brown.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara and husband, Don Wolfe of Saint Charles, Mo., and Nancy and husband, Jerry Fidele of Oberlin; one sister, Frances Barnhart of Saint Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

There will be a private inurnment at a later date.

Memorials may be left in her name at the Decatur County Museum.
