Darline Wicke
WAUNETA -- Darline Wicke, 68, a longtime resident of Wauneta, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo.
She was born Meryl Darline on Aug. 26, 1933, to Perl and Nellie (Borland) Sexson in McCook. She attended country school northeast of Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1951. She went to business school in Omaha and spent a short time in Washington, D.C.
On Dec. 8, 1954, she married Kenneth H. Wicke, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta. They lived on a farm north of Trenton from 1956 to 1967. In 1967, they moved to a farm southeast of Wauneta. She was a homemaker. In 1999 , she moved to Loveland, Colo.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Roxanne and husband, Ovidio Pena of Charlestown, Ind., Cindy and husband, Tom McChesney of Windsor, Colo., and Kristy and husband, Allen Klenk of LaPorte, Colo.; one sister, Virginia and husband, Ralph Fay of Casper, Wyo.; three brothers, Vernon and wife, Judy Sexson of Omaha, Arnold and wife, Dorothy Sexson of Ogallala, and Lawrence and wife, Thelma Sexson of Farnam; three sister-in-laws, Lillian (Wicke) Teply, Reva Wicke and Bernice Wicke; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m. (MDT), at the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta.
Visitation is today from 2-6 p.m. at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
