Great home show
Dear Editor, As coordinator of the McCook Home & Builder's Show, I would like to thank all the vendors who participated in this year's show. I would also like to thank the McCook businesses that donated food for the vendor hospitality night, and to the many people who donated their time to greet at the door, serve coffee and tea to vendors, volunteered to help in the kitchen, and to those who helped with tear down. A special thanks to Karey Graves for assisting me, to Barb Ostrum for operating the Chamber Cafe, and to Craig Olsen, the chairman of the hospitality night. A special thank to the Work Ethic Camp for removal of debris on the exterior of the building, and to Loop Plumbing & Heating for a tremendous job in supplying the vendors with adequate electricity. What a challenge!! Thanks for contributing to make this year's show another huge success.
However, I feel I must express my dismay about one issue. We had two exhibitors set up outside just off premise site at no charge. Both exhibitors were aware of this year's show, but neither contracted indoor or outdoor space. Both had competing businesses that paid for space. One of those exhibitors came from Pine, Colo., and their sales were greatly affected by the non-paying vendor. The other vendor participated in last year's show, but did not make inquiries about the 2002 Home Show.
Yes, this is the land of free enterprise, and some choose to take advantage of this opportunity.
This is a major project for the McCook Chamber of Commerce, Marie, Joyce and Joan, and they should all be commended.
Thanks to all of you who attended the 2002 Home & Builder's Show.
Sincerely, Linda Frank, Coordinator
