Return to sanity

Thursday, May 2, 2002

Dear Editor,

The March 23-24 issue of the Gazette carried an article addressing the rising illegitimacy rate among teenage girls in the U.S. Therein it is stated that abstinence-based programs are the norm in this country's educational system, and they are then fingered as the culprit for the aforementioned statistics. Neither of these statements could be further from the truth!

In 1964, the Sex Information and Education Council of the U.S. was formed by a group who bought into the fraudulent "research" (now found to be anything but scientific) of Prof. Alfred Kinsey in the 1940s and '50s.

(He was not a physician, nor a psychologist, nor a sociologist -- but a zool- ogist, whose specialty was gall wasps! Through his "loaded" research, he was trying to win acceptance of his own very perverted sexual behavior. And he fooled many.)

SIECUS's purpose was to implement Kinsey's "research" findings and change the sexual mind set / behavior of the United States, and beyond. By 1970, SIECUS and some of its proponents managed to persuade the U.S. government to launch their sex-ed programs in the public school system. Eventually, almost all of the educational systems in the U.S. (private schools included) were infected with at least some of their errors!

Since then, U.S. taxpayers have been forced to dole out literally billions of dollars to support "sex-ed" programs that many of them abhor because of their licentious and immoral nature. (And if you are unaware of the content of these programs -- morality is not a part of them, and we are not in actuality even speaking of education here, but a form of psychotherapy aimed at behavioral change!) There are no moral boundaries, rather, "alterative lifestyles" and many other euphemisms that hide raw immorality! All is to be tolerated -- except one thing -- the Christian beliefs concerning sexuality that will foster happiness and health in this life, and into life eternal these old fashioned ideas are not tolerated!

What I am describing, as many families have discovered over the last 30+ years, is robbing children of their innocence, and trampling the rights of their parents to form their children morally. And the failure of these programs is so obvious, that even the Alan Guttmacher Institute (which has lent support to advocates of the sexual revolution) has admitted that today's relativistic and non-directive (another euphemism) sex-ed is a failure. As far back as 1986, AGI stated that most studies proved that these programs failed in their chief goal: To reduce the number of illegitimate babies, especially in the youth! (And they are not only failures, but worse, they have actually accentuated the problem -- the number of unwed teenage mothers has dramatically increased!)

So why the recent media push to defame abstinence programs? Because many parents, teachers and others -- recognizing the insidious and erroneous nature of the sexual revolution's "sex ed" -- have been actively promoting abstinence programs.

They understand our need for self-discipline and absolute moral norms -- some things always were and always will be right, and some things always have been and always will be wrong.

Also, they perceive the beauty of sexuality when used according to its Creators designs: sexuality is a gift from God to be used exclusively in the marital union between one man and one woman as an act of procreative and unitive love. This about-face (to abstinence training) has the modem "sexperts": panicking -- they see their agenda threatened -- thus the media blitz!

So the increase of unwed teenage pregnancies is NOT the result of abstinence programs, but of a generation being told that they will never be able to control their sexual drive, and whatever they "feel is best for them" is acceptable.

Can you imagine what life would become if this same philosophy were applied to other arenas of life? Nothing is right or wrong -- just decide for yourself! And whatever you do, do not try to discipline yourself -- it cannot be done! Would businesses survive? How about law enforcement? The education system? Marriages? Families?

Peace? Are we not speaking of the preservation of civilization itself -- of which the family is the sacred nucleus ?! Is this the world you want for your children?

Christians! We are supposed to be the light of Christ for the world -- obviously, we have not done our part! "Awake ... watch and pray..." Matt. 26:41. Jesus promised us His assistance if only we strive to live His commands and trust in Him. (Jn. 15:7-9) "But apart from Him we can do nothing." Jn. 15 :5. For He alone is life: "Except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you." John 6:54

As a nation we must stand up for truth, and return to sanity!
