Creative shelter
Dear Editor,
It is assumed that we on the bottom can't afford building and sheds as the rich people do.
We on the bottom of the dollar pile just think outside the box when it comes to shelter.
A simple can of spay paint makes a great shelter. Most of my tools set outside. I use a cheap clear spray paint and most of my tools look as good as the day I bought them at yard sales or auctions many years ago. Maybe once a year I spray them again, as sun does eat paint. So, for a cost of a dollar a year, my tools are under paint shelter. As for my mowers, I use tarp and four bricks.
This has protected my $25 yard sale mower for, now, 13 years.
I also use tarps and screens I buy at yard sales to cover my water barrels for a dollar.
I grow vines on the west side of the house for the last shelter, not from rain but from heat of the afternoon sun.
Then in the fall, I cut them down so the sun can heat the home over the winter.
Now a rich man can spend thousands on shelter, but a poor man's dollar will get the same results.
