Burwell church site of wedding
BURWELL -- Teresa Ann Priddy and Adam Lee Switzer were united in marriage July 7, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burwell. The Revs. Mark Middendorf and Matthew Berndt officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Priddy of Stratton, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Switzer of Burwell. Special guests for the ceremony were grandparents of the couple, Dave and Lorraine Priddy of Stratton, Daisy Jensen of Max, Eula Scherzberg of Burwell, and Colleen Switzer of Taylor.
The bride wore a halter style, A-line, floor length gown of white satin. The v-necked, fitted bodice front was accented with iridescent beading, while the open back featured battenburg lace straps from the neckline to the bodice sides. Her headpiece was fashioned with iridescent beading, a fingertip-length veil, and a chapel length train of tulle lace. She wore elbow-length white, satin gloves accented with lace cutouts and iridescent beading. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
The maid of honor was Kimberly Priddy of McCook, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Anita Mitchell of Amelia, and Chrissy Emsley of Stratton. The bride's personal attendants were Jacquelyn Craichy of Lincoln, and Lisa Mallicoat of Denver, Colo., cousin of the bride. They wore sleeveless, navy blue, velvet floor-length gowns with rounded necklines and cowl backs. The bridesmaids carried a single, long-stem, silk, powder blue rose.
Serving as best man was Trevor Kraus of Taylor. Bridegroomsmen were Luke Glidden of Taylor, and Garry Perrott of Omaha. The bridegroom and his attendants wore black, western cut tuxedo jackets with navy melange vests and black jeans. The bridegroom's vest was a white melange.
The flower girl was Allison Priddy of McCook, niece of the bride, and the ring bearer was Alex Berg, cousin of the bridegroom. She wore a Cinderella dress of powder blue. Ushers for the ceremony were Nathan Priddy of Stratton, brother of the bride, Mark Sortum of Steamboat Springs, Colo., brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Shawn Phillipps of Burwell, and Robby Gartner of Chambers. Gartner also served as bell ringer.
Christina Scherzberg of Grand Island, aunt of the bridegroom, was the guest book attendant. Gift bearers were Keith Priddy of Stratton, brother of the bride, and Randy Scherzberg of Lincoln, uncle of the bridegroom.
The photographer was Beth Switzer of Taylor, aunt of the bridegroom.
Host couples were Chuck and Kathy Mallicoat and Buck and Kay Hill, all of Denver, Colo., aunts and uncles of the bride, and Mark and Sarah Sortum of Steamboat Springs, sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom.
The soloist as Katie Watt of Stratton, and the pianist was Sherry Tetschner of Burwell.
A dinner reception followed the ceremony at the church, followed by a wedding dance at the Legion Club in Burwell.
The couple is making their home at rural Burwell where the bridegroom is employed at Switzer Ranch. The bride is employed by Loup County Public Schools. They also own and operate a lodging, hunting and outfitting business. The bride is a 1998 graduate of Stratton High School, and attended Chadron State College. The bridegroom is a 1992 graduate of Loup County Public School, and a 1994 graduate of Hastings Community College with an associate degree in agricultural production.
