Denver couple wed in Blue Hill

BLUE HILL -- Valerie Lynn Classen of Ayr and Lorin James Howard of Denver, Colo., were united in marriage on Aug. 11, 2001, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. The Rev. Neal Anthony officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Keith and Joan Classen of Ayr, Jim and Ellen Howard of McCook, and Connie and Dave Davidson of Indianola. Grandparents are Clara Kempf of Glenvil and the late Harold Kempf, Lilian Kuhlman of Gothenburg and the late John Kuhlman, and Florence Howard of Indianola and the late Alvin Howard.

The maid of honor was Julie Ochsner, of Kersey, Colo., sister of the bride. Serving as bridesmaids were Amanda Toepfer of Ayr, Chara Howard of Kearney, sister of the bridegroom, Crystal Allen of Omaha, and Liesel Classen of Omaha, sister-in-law of the bride.

The best man was Nick Harrahil of Omaha. Serving as bridegroomsmen were Matt Losey of Omaha, Jeff McNeal of Oklahoma City, Okla., Nate Rivera of Boise, Idaho, and Todd Classen of Omaha, brother of the bride.

Caitlyn Ochser of Kersey, niece of the bride, served as flower girl for the ceremony.

Candlelighters were Quint Kirbach of Columbia, S.C., and Brice Towns of Des Moines, Iowa.

Ushering guests were Kevin Ochsner of Kersey, and Greg Lakey of San Antonio, Texas.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Carla Post of Blue Hill, and soloist Kim Anthony, also of Blue Hill.

A reception honoring the newlyweds followed the ceremony at the Kearney Community Theater in Kearney. Host couples were Bob and Loy Ann Rossel of Lincoln, and Ron and Maxine Congrave of Phoenix, Ariz.

The guest book attendant was Julie Carissa Howard of Indianola, sister of the bridegroom.

The couple is making their home in Denver. The bride attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and is employed by the Cherry Creek School District in Denver. The bridegroom is a graduate of Republican Valley High School, and a graduate of UNK with a degree in industrial distribution. He is employed as a field sales representative in Denver.
