Couple united in summer ceremony

CAMBRIDGE -- Jennie Marie Kohout and Ryan Mark Martin were united in marriage Aug. 24, 2002, at St. John's Catholic Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Robert Barnhill officiating.

Parents of the couple are Francis and Joyce Kohout of Cambridge and Mark and Judy Martin and Deb and Michael Strudl, all of Lincoln.

The bride wore a ballgown with a scalloped neckline. There was interlaced braiding on the neckline, cap sleeves and along the edge of the cathedral-length train. She wore a rhinestone tiara with a waist-length veil. She carried a bouquet of cymbidium orchids, dark red roses and eucalyptus.

The maid of honor was Wendy Pedersen. The bridesmaids were Melissa Welch, Kris Ernest and Crystal Link, cousin of the bride. They each wore a burgundy empire-style dress with cap sleeves and burgundy organza overlays. They each carried a bouquet of phalenopsis orchids, greenery and gold accents.

Matt Detton and Nate Wilcox were the best men. The bridegroomsmen were Mike Zac and Brian Kohout, brother of the bride. The men wore black tuxedos with burgundy vests and white rose boutonnieres.

The flower girl was Mackenzie Martin, sister of the bridegroom, and the ringbearer was Kellen Willet, cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers for the ceremony were Nick Burge, cousin of the bridegroom, Nick Evans and Andy Nalow.

Denise Kolar, Lindsay Roper and Mike Schlake were instrumentalist for the ceremony. Amy Brown was the organist.

Richard Tomasevicz, uncle of the bride, was the reader. Ron and Diane Ross were the host couple. Laurie Kohout, aunt of the bride, and Mariya Detton pinned flowers on people.

Linda Link, Janet Wheeler, Margaret Bartek and Elaine Tomasevic, aunts of the bride, served cake and other refreshments. Conner and Rachel Gerner, Aja Martin and Jaime, Jordon and Kristy Strudl, siblings of the bridegroom were gift carriers and greeters. Alana McGill, niece of the bride, was also a greeter. Thomas McHale was a server. Theresa Puls, godmother of the bride, was wedding coordinator and helper. The guest of honor was the bridegroom's grandfather, Frank Strudl.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Cambridge Community Building.

The couple honeymooned in Orlando, Fla.

The bride is employed with Digital IMS, Inc. in Lincoln as a production developer. The bridegroom is employed at Awards Unlimited in Lincoln as a laser engraver. The couple is making their home at 4832 Garland Street, Apt. 2, Lincoln, NE 68504.
