Sexual assault ammended to lesser charges
Sexual assault charges against a McCook man were amended Monday in Red Willow County District Court.
Trevor M. Gray, 21, will face sentencing Oct. 1, 2002, after his charges were amended to attempted first degree sexual assault.
Gray pleaded not guilty to the original charges of first degree sexual assault, a Class II felony when he was arraigned in April 2002.
According to police records, Gray was involved in a March 30, 2002 incident at his home in McCook. A 21-year-old Cozad woman reportedly stayed at Gray's house after other friends had left following a party. Gray allegedly raped the woman once the two were alone.
In other action:
- Staci L. Stacey, 28, of McCook was sentenced to 24 months probation for possession of a controlled substance, a Class III felony.
Her charges were amended from distribution of a controlled substance, a Class III felony and child abuse, a Class IIIA felony. The child abuse charge was dropped.
She was involved in a Jan. 11, 2002 incident where a police informant purchased methamphetamine from her boyfriend, Brian Rugg. Stacey was present during the transaction. - Brian L. Jacob, 35, McCook was arraigned for distribution of a controlled substance, a Class III felony. His charges were amended from distribution of a controlled substance, a Class II felony.
He was involved in an April 24, 2002 incident where a police informant revealed information about Jacob selling methamphetamine to another McCook man.
Jacob's sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 13, 2002 at 8:30 a.m.
