School approves $14.4 million budget
The McCook Public Schools' board of education adopted a $14.4 million budget for the 2002-2003 school year following a public hearing late Monday afternoon.
Board members, the superintendent and the finance director sat alone during the hearing; no one from the public appeared for the hearing or for the special meeting that followed.
Board member approved these funds:
General fund: $10,773,594.09
Special building fund: $89,069.33
Depreciation fund: $363,881
Employee benefit: $393,845
School lunch fund: $399,086.11
Cooperative fund: $1,999,611.74
Activity fund: $326,221.31
Student fee fund: $50,000
The total tax levy will be $1.23272311, which includes $0.23272311 for early retirement, a lease/purchase agreement and a 1 percent county treasurer's fee, budget items allowed outside the state-mandated $1 levy limit.
