Hospital approves new step on pay scale
The Community Hospital board of directors added "step 10" to the hospital's salary schedule at its regular meeting Wednesday.
The change was a result of review of comparable salaries and was made to keep the hospital competitive, Gary Bieganski, hospital president, said.
The board also approved a proposal to change vacation and holiday time to "paid time off," as well as increase available educational assistance for employees from $300 to $1,000 a year.
Candidates for the hospital board have been selected, and ballots will be mailed out on Friday.
In other business, the board:
- approved quarterly staff competency reports.
- approved procedures for policies and procedures for government investigations and service of legal process.
- approved appointment procedures and other policies for the Hospital Auxiliary.
- approved appointment of a number of personnel to the consulting, courtesy, allied and affiliate medical staffs.
The annual meeting of the Communitty Hospital Association and sole member of the Community Hospital Health Foundation is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.
