Salestrom to perform at White House Dec. 21

Jim Salestrom, formerly of Kearney, and 2002 performer at McCook National Bank's Hot Summer Nights production, has been invited to sing at the White House Dec. 21. He will be joined by his children, James and Casey.
Salestrom, along with his brother Chuck, formed Epic Recording Artists Timberline in the 1970s. Jim then performed worldwide with Dolly Parton for 11 years including two HBO specials, three appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and the Academy Awards Show.
He has a reputation as a respected musician and is an international entertainer/spokesperson for Vail Resorts, and Breckenridge/Keystone, Colo., where he has made his home for the past 20 years. Along with 20 solo albums, including three for children, he has won a Regional Emmy Award, three Colorado Broadcast Awards, a Silver Cindy, and a Cleo Award for his writing, performing and producing music for many numerous nationwide accounts. He is a member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco. He has performed for four Presidents including President Clinton at the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial, President Ford and President Bush Sr. and President Carter. Jim recently performed at the U.S. Supreme Court, with Alan Jackson in Baltimore, with Vince Gill and Amy Grant in Aspen, for the 227th Anniversary of the Marine Corp in San Francisco and on the Delta Queen Riverboat.
Jim, along with wife Pam, and children Casey and James divide their time between homes in Summit County and the Denver area. Jim has traveled for SKI USA to Argentina, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland and Germany.
