Man bound over on meth charges

BENKELMAN -- Dundy County Judge Bert Leffler bound a Stratton man over to district court Monday, charging him with four felony and two misdemeanor drug and traffic offenses. Leffler also issued a warrant for the arrest of another Stratton man facing similar charges.

Joe Stillwagoner, 35, waived a preliminary hearing in county court Monday morning. Stillwagoner is charged with possession of pseudoeffedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana without a drug tax stamp, distribution of methamphetamine, unlawful transportation of anhydrous ammonia and no operator's license.

Leffler continued Stillwagoner's $10,000 bond. No district court date has been set.

In a related case, Leffler issued a warrant for the arrest of Ty Yost, who is charged with the same drug charges, as well as counterfeiting.

Yost failed to appear for his arraignment Monday. Dundy Court Sheriff Rob Bellamy said in November Yost has been arrested in Colorado on other drug charges there.

In other court action, Judge Leffler sentenced Robert Todd of Stratton, 25, to two years probation on a charge of second offense driving while intoxicated. Todd was ordered not to drive for one year, except to and from work and then only after installing, at his own expense, a "Guardian Interlock" on his vehicle. The locking devise will not allow a vehicle to start if it detects any trace of alcohol on the breath.

Todd must also complete inpatient alcohol treatment and pay a $500 fine and $83 court costs.

Todd still faces charges of use of a firearm to commit a felony, terroristic threats and second degree assault in Dundy County district court.
