McCook Rebels 14U squad sweeps two from Lexington
The McCook Rebels 14 and under girls fastpitch softball team swept a doubleheader from the Lexington Storm Wednesday night at Jaycees Sports Complex.
The Rebels won the first game 5-1 and the second game 12-4.
In the first game, Kirstie Hiatt pitched a no-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk.
Jessica Einspahr, Michelle McKenna each had two singles. Cody Korus singled and doubled. Kirstie Hiatt and Tori Davis each singled.
In Game 2, Marissa Wallace and Austin Wilson shared pitching duties. They struck out five, walked three and allowed three hits.
Wilson tripled. Korus and Hailee Koetter each singled. Wallace doubled.
The Rebels head to Columbus this coming weekend to play in the Fire and Ice Fastpitch Softball Tournament.
In pool play Saturday, the Rebels will face Columbus Lakeview Blue Lightning, Omaha Sizzle Blue and Lincoln Blazer Force.
The Rebels' record stands at 18-8-1.
