MCCs fundraising drive kicks off
The McCook Community College Indians Boosters are initiating a new program for the 2003-2004 school year -- the Adopt-an-Athlete Program.
The Boosters are currently looking for families to adopt student-athletes and give these students a family away from home while at college in McCook.
Families are asked to invite their adopted athletes over to their home once or twice a month for dinner.
In return, families will get an opportunity to meet student-athletes from around the state, area or country; will be introduced at the Fall MCC Boosters BBQ on Sept. 7; will be introduced as the adoptive family at their athlete's Parents' Night event; will be invited to the MCC athletic banquet in the spring; and will receive a free pass to MCC sporting events at home.
There is no cost involved to the adoptive families other than the cost of a couple dinners a month.
Other NJCAA rules do apply toward this program, and these will be explained to the host families. To register your family or for more information, please contact Sherri Stang or Peggy Been at McCook National Bank at (308) 345-4240.
