McCOOK, Neb. — Thanks to federal stimulus funding, Hillcrest Nursing Home is weathering the COVID-19 pandemic despite a drop in census. The nursing home received $1.3 million in federal CARES stimulus funding and in PPE (personal protective equipment) forgivable loans, said Randy Dean, Hillcrest Board of Trustee. Bison have visited Blue Devils before

McCook’s Logan Bunger (89) helped lead a 26-6 Class B quarterfinal win over Plattsmouth in 2015. The Blue Devils brought their perfect 10-0 record into this huge contest, but McCook improved to 10-1 and advanced into Class B semifinals against No. 1-seed Aurora. Now the Bison and Blue Devils collide again at Plattsmouth for a first-round playoff game on Friday — only their second meeting ever on a football field. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
