Popcorn Time!

Since my family has far too much free time on our hands, we signed up our oldest son for Boy Scouts last week. The gist of our first meeting was: "Welcome to Boy Scouts. Now go sell popcorn." I think I hear the collective, sympathetic groan from parents everywhere. Ah, man. Yet another fundraiser. I know, but I'm actually kind of excited about this one. For one thing, my family loves popcorn. Personally, I think a Diet Coke and a bag of microwave popcorn makes a perfectly acceptable meal when my husband and boys go hunting or fishing, and I get some quiet mom time.

Even better, this year people can make a $25 donation so that treats can be sent to military men and women and their families. How cool is that! I know a lot of us our looking for ways to show our support to our troops, and this is the perfect opportunity.

The Boy Scouts will begin selling popcorn this Saturday, October 13th. When that first boy scout knocks on your door, I hope you'll budget a $25 donation for treats for our military.
