Out of the Mouths of Babes
Once again I've left my blogging post for a while. I'm still working at getting into the routine of school and preschool drop-offs and pick-ups and football practices and writers meetings and work...oh my! It seems in my down time, all I can manage is to marvel out how much fun my kids are these days.
Monday, I was innocently reading a book when my three year-old approached me with his pointing finger and said, "Time to die." I'm not sure what I did to deserve that, but I think it means I need to more closely examine what video games my eight year-old is playing in front of his little brothers. I thought I had thrown out all but the Lego Star Wars video games, but who knows what other prizes my oldest had hidden in the cushions of the basement couch? I may need to add a few more ratings blocks to our satellite while I'm at it.
Why is it that no matter how careful we are about what our children watch, they still manage to pick up clever phrases that make you think, "Gee, I hope he doesn't repeat that in front of his pre-school teacher." I could write a whole book on some other great lines from my three boys. Anyone else care to share? Misery and shocked parental ears love company.
