*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Brady Eichelerger-O’Neill - Brady, son of O'Neill Head Coach and former Beemer two-time 1000 yard rusher Brock Eichelberger, did everything he could to garner a win in the Eagles 9-7 loss to Auburn. Eichelburger rushed for 180 yards on 21 carries and scored O'Neill's only touchdown. Brock finished the season with 1,167 yards rushing for the 8-2 Eagles.
*Quinn Bailey-Chadron - The Master of the Run bolted for 311 yards and five touchdowns on 38 carries in the Cardinals 42-18 victory over Lincoln Christian. 2,495 yards this year for the great Quinn Bailey.
*Jett Thomalla to Amarion Jackson, Trenton Vansurksum- Millard South - The Jett Thomalla to Amerion Jackson connection worked like a charm in Millard South’s 59-19 victory over Papio South. Thomalla, the All-State candidate, completed 29 of 37 passes for a monster 379 yards and four touchdowns. Junior WR Jackson caught eight of those passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in the win. And Trenton Vanderscom? He was a perfect eight for eight on PAT kicks in this game and this season is 67 of 67 on PAT attempts and two of two on field goals. That my friends is perfection.
*Nate Kelly, Dez Smith, Jhett Webb, Bearcat O-Line-Scottsbluff - QB Nate Kelly and Dez Smith were sensational against Gretna, combining for 488 yards on the ground.. Kelly broke loose for 273 yards and six touchdowns on 15 carries, raising his season total to 1,186 yards with 23 touchdowns. Smith gained 215 yards on 16 carries with two TDs, upping his season total to 1,431 yards and 15 touchdowns. And that top notch O-Line of #23 Braxton Burford (6-2, 200, Jr), Ryan Hinman (6-5, 270, Sr), #65 Julius Blanco (6-1, 235, Sr), Daylon Adams (5-11, 285, Soph), #78 Adain Haffner (6-3,300, Jr), #76 Chris Galindo (6-2, 320, Sr) and #21 Lucas Lively (6-3, 215, Jr) made things a ton of fun for Kelly and Webb with their remarkable blocking.
Defensive monster Jhett Webb made an incredible 20 tackles (5 tackles for loss) plus an interception in the win, increasing his season total to 101 stops.
*Parker Zikmund, Corbin Keyes,Turner Hanke-Central City - Parker Zikmund and Turner Hanke hooked up for three touchdown passes in Central City's 49-14 win over Fort Calhoun. **Beau Rohrich, Madden Brabec, Ikaiah Edgrin -Wood River - These Three were shining stars in the Eagles 4130 victory over Doniphan-Trumbull, the second victory over the Cardinals in a seven day span. Powerful speedster Bo Rohrich roared through the Cardinals defense for 273 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries, leaving him 61 yards short of the 2000 yard rushing mark.
QB Madden Brabec was also prolific on the ground, zipping for 168 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. He also completed three out of four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Linebacker Ikaiah Edgren had eight tackles (7 solos) and also caused a key fumble at the one yard line, stopping a late Doniphan-Trumbull drive. The fumble was recovered by Edgren’s teammate Brek Wiese.
*Kip Brigham-Wahoo - Phenomenal Wahoo junior had another incredible night in the Warriors 50-0 playoff win over Douglas County West. Brigham rushed for 253 yards and three touchdowns covering 78, 29 and 68 yards on just 8 carries averaging 31.63 a pop. Tavion Johnson caught 4 of Jelinek’s passes for 99 yards and score and made an interception on defense.
Have you wondered why this Raymond Central team is having such a great year? Former Lincoln North Star head coach Tony Kobza is now at the controls for Raymond Central and his top assistant is the great Mark King, former highly successful head coach at Lincoln Southwest and Ord. That's a pretty good high powered combination, friends!
*Landon Riddle, Alex Doty-Sidney - Landon Riddle was a Swiss army knife in Sidney's 30-7 victory over Omaha Roncalli. **8-Man/6-Man**
*Zaden Wolf, Grady Kelly, Luke Shoemaker, Ky Cargill, Tae Soto, Taylor Jensen, William Pokorny, Gunnar Vanosdall-Central Valley - How thrilling was it to see the great #5 Grady Kelly suited up and playing in Central Valley’s 72-26 win over O'Neill Saint Mary's. Kelly not only played, but rushed for 144 yards on just 8 carries with two touchdowns, one of which was a dazzling 65 yard run. Quarterback Zaden Wolf was nearly perfect with his 11 to 12 passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Luke Shoemaker rolled for 92 yards on 13 carries with a pair of touchdowns as he creeps ever so close to that 1000 yard rushing mark (971). AND, Ky Cargill had just one carry but it was a 56 yard score.
In the receiving department Tae Soto grabbed 8 catches for 92 yards and a 35 yard touchdown reception Taylor Jensen had three catches for 77 yards with a 65 yard touchdown catch.
On defense, the Fabulous Freshman William Pokorny made 12 tackles with eight solos, two of which were tackles for losses. One of the Stats of the game had to be Gunnar Vanosdall making FOUR tackles and ALL were SACKS.
Now there's a shot here that Central Valley could become the third team in history to have three 1000 yard rushers in the same backfield in the same season. Marquette, now defunct, turned the trick in 1983 with Lynn Menke, Ken Russell and Kevin Hutsell. Falls City Sacred Heart repeated it in 1992 with Chris Darnell, Chris Carpenter and Nate Froeschl.
Here's Central Valley's deal. With three possible games remaining quarterback Zaden Wolf is already there with 1,169 yards Luke Shoemaker needs only 29 yards to reach that mark. And the now healthy Grady Kelly has 620 yards. Now remember, Kelly rushed for over 2000 yards a year ago, but he’ll need three huge games, so there is a shot.

Quarterback Logan Linsley completed only 1 of 6 passes, but that one was a 22 yard touchdown strike to the great Dalton Pokorney. Lindsley also rushed for 63 big ones on just nine totes with a score .Speaking of Pokorney, the All-State candidate linebacker had 16 stops in the game. Collin Vrbka added 12 tackles while Coy Vrbka chipped in with 11.
Ahh, there is magic and bloodlines in that Vrbka name.
*Hayden Muirhead-Overton - Quarterback ran for 134 yards and five touchdowns on 20 carries in Overton's 32-20 victory over a fine High Plains Community team.

*Kayde Ramm-Stuart - Junior QB was a sparkler in Stuart's 41-6 win over Hampton. Ramm completed 8 out of 11 passes for 139 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 82 yards on 7 carries and another score. On defense Kayde posted 4 tackles, all of which were sacks. He kicked off 6 times, 2 of which were touchbacks and he punted once, a 50 yard blast. Now that's my Player of the Game.
