NFL Rankings Week 13 2017-2018
There were not a lot of surprises this week outside of the Seahawks beating the Eagles. The result itself was not a giant surprise, as it is very difficult to get a win in Seattle. The Eagles, however, struggled greatly with the sounds. I only dropped them to #2 because none of the top 4 won convincingly enough to warrant any moves. The Bears, Broncos, and Colts all had to win this week to save themselves from elimination. They all lost. The Bucs and Texans are in the same situation this week.
There is a log jam at 6-6 with seven different teams (none of them are in playoff position at this point).
Ben McAdoo becomes the first casualty of the season as he was fired as the Giants head coach. The ownership of the Giants do not seem to know what they are doing. It has been known for years that they have issues at the offensive lines (which is the main reason the running backs and Eli have struggled) yet they have done nothing to solve that issue. Add to that the three top receivers all sustained season ending injuries in the same game. Unfortunately, the coach and GM were punished because of this.
The Chiefs continue to sink. They started the season 6-0 and have gone 1-6 since. The Chargers have gone the other way. After starting 0-4 they have gone 6-2. The last team to start the season 0-4 and then make the playoffs were the San Diego Chargers.
Rankings
1. Minnesota Vikings (10-2)
The Vikings did what they needed to win this week and take over the top spot. It was not a pretty win, but a win none-the-less.
Last week: Defeated the Falcons 14-9
Up next: at Carolina
2. Philadelphia Eagles (10-2)
The Eagles looked out of their element in Seattle and travel to the Coliseum this week for a match-up with the Rams. The Eagles could be looking at a losing streak.
Last week: Lost to the Seahawks 24-10
Up next: at Los Angeles Rams
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-2)
The Steelers escaped with a win against the Bengals after being down 17-0.
Last week: Defeated the Bengals 23-20
Up next: against Baltimore
4. New England Patriots (10-2)
The Patriots made the game a lot more lopsided than it actually was. They were lucky to get the win.
Last week: Defeated the Bills 23-3
Up next: at Miami (Monday 12/11)

Bottom Four
23. Washington (5-7)
The team from Washington was looking like a playoff contender at the beginning of the season, but have fallen out of contention and are in danger of finishing with a losing season.
Last week: Lost to the Cowboys 38-14
Next week: at Los Angeles Chargers
24. Arizona Cardinals (5-7)
The Cardinals were swept in the "Teams that used to Play in St Louis" series. They are an awful team that has played better than it's record.
Last week: Lost to the Rams 32-16
Up next: against Tennessee
25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-8)
There is no rhyme or reason why the Bucs are this bad. They have a good team, but cannot seem to get it going. Lose this week and they are out of the playoffs.
Last week: Lost to the Packers 26-20
Up next: against Detroit
26. Houston Texans (4-8)
The losses on both sides of the ball have finally caught up with the Texans. If they lose this week they are out of playoff contention, but is anyone surprised with the amount of injuries they have had.
Last week: Lost to the Titans 24-13
Up next: against San Francisco
Byes: None
Eliminated: Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts (New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns)

New York Giants | Ben McAdoo | Steve Spagnuolo |
Standings
Nothing at all has changed in the standings this week.
If the playoffs began today the Eagles and Vikings would have Byes in the NFC and the Patriots and Steelers in the AFC
The Saints and Rams would play the Wild Card teams of the Panthers and Seahawks to fill out the NFC, while the Titans and Chiefs would play the Jags and Ravens in the AFC.
