McCOOK, Neb. - Eleanor (Falls) Benjamin Zumalt was born on April 23, 1936 in Spalding, Neb. to Edward and Lura (Schoonover) Falls. She attended one year of college.
Eleanor was united in marriage to Martin Benjamin II and later to James “Jim” Zumalt. Both of her husbands preceded her in death. Eleanor worked for a long time at the A & G Café in Salina, Kan. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors. Eleanor loved fishing and playing Bingo.
Eleanor passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 21, 2024 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 88 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Martin and James; brother, Jonny Falls; and granddaughter, Tina Marie Sink.
Survivors include her children: Ira (Linda) Falls of Palmyra, Neb., Debbra Sacco of Stuart, Neb., Sheila Ebert of Culbertson, Neb. and Martin (Ester) Benjamin of McPherson, Kan.; 17 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen and services are being planned for the spring. Eleanor will be inurned next to her husband, Jim Zumalt, in the Culbertson Cemetery.
