Tigers' rematch with Knights tops area playoff slate

Beyond beating powerhouse Burwell on the Longhorns’ home turf, a wild 48-30 win over Lourdes Central Catholic at Nebraska City had to be those Tigers’ most memorable playoff victory.

Now six seniors are leading Lourdes Central into Benkelman today for a 4 p.m. (3 p.m. MDT) second-round rematch at Benkelman.

D-1 No. 9 Arapahoe travels to meet No. 8 Shelby-Rising City at 5 p.m. Both teams are 8-1.

D-2 No. 12 Hitchcock County (7-2) takes a long trip to 7-2 No. 5 Wynot with kickoff set for 2 p.m.

Six-man No. 16 Wauneta-Palisade (4-4) faces the ultimate test at No. 1 Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (8-0) at 6 p.m. in Sumner.

Six-man No. 13 Southwest (5-3) plays No. 4 Garden County (8-0) at Oshkosh, 6 p.m.
