Commissioners to finalize tax levies Monday
McCOOK, Neb. — Tax levies and other financial topics are high on the agenda as the Red Willow County Board of Commissioners and the Board of Equalization convene on Monday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Red Willow County Courthouse.
At 9:15 a.m., the Board of Equalization will hold a public hearing on the 2024 final levies and levy the necessary taxes for the upcoming year. They will also certify all levies to neighboring counties. Lori Stevens, Deputy Assessor, is scheduled to present a contract with Central Plains.
Following the Board of Equalization session, the Board of Commissioners will reconvene at 9:30 a.m. Crystal Dack, county treasurer, will present two key resolutions: Resolution No. 1542 to issue County Sales Certificates and Resolution No. 1544 to direct the county attorney to begin foreclosure proceedings on county tax sale certificates. The Board will also review informal bids for a Lycox Front Mount Retriever.
A contract with Applied Connective for data cabling services at the Extension Office will also be considered.
Additional agenda items include approving minutes from previous meetings, authorizing the chairman's signature on various permits and licenses, and addressing surplus items for the Extension Office. Financial reports from the Sheriff’s Office and the District Court Clerk will also be presented.
