UTV issue back on City Council agenda
UTV issue back on agenda for City Council
McCOOK Neb. — Further discussion regarding the proposed UTV ordinance will be held at the upcoming McCook City Council meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024. During the July 15 meeting, Mayor Linda Taylor requested staff to schedule a discussion of the UTV ordinance prior to the third and final reading.
The impetus of the discussion is to address safety concerns associated with the potential ordinance. The Council will review ordinances from Beatrice and Norfolk that address potential safety concerns.
The city council had hoped the Legislature would address the issue, but has picked it up again after lawmakers took no action.
Other items on the regular agenda include an update regarding the ballpark project and the annual evaluation of City Manager Nathan A. Schneider’s job performance; as allowed by state law, upon a majority vote, the Council may go into Closed Session for consideration of this item.
The Economic Development Plan Citizen’s Advisory Review Committee will hold a public hearing regarding a meeting held on July 22, 2024. The McCook City Council will be asked to accept the minutes of that meeting.
The consent agenda includes the following:
