McCOOK, Neb. — MFL saved the best for last because both Ravens and Chiefs scored two touchdowns in their Seventh-Eighth Grade season finale Wednesday.

The lead changed hands twice before Bo Truska broke loose for a 65-yard six-point gallop.

Quade Brott completed his two-point pass to Kreed Bradley and the Ravens secured a 16-13 victory.

The Ravens (2-1 record) finished second among Seventh-Eighth grade behind only those champion Raiders (3-0). The Chiefs finished 1-2 with an earlier win over the Colts (0-3).

Beau Bednar’s four-yard TD run gave the Chiefs an early 6-0 lead, but Ravens tacklers stuffed that PAT try.

The Ravens soon unleashed a passing game as Cole Davidson turned Brott’s throw into his 33-yard scoring catch-and-run. Brott found Jed Crawford with another aerial and 8-6 lead. However, Trynt Unger’s 12-yard TD and PAT run gave those Chiefs a 13-8 lead — setting up Truksa’s final heroic run.
