LINCOLN, Neb. - Dorothy Brandt, 93 of Lincoln, passed away July 15, 2024. Dorothy was born on Oct. 10, 1930 in Indianola, Neb. to Earl and Clara (Hakel) Teel. She attended McCook High School where she played the drums in the band. After high school, she worked at McCook Lumberyard.

Dorothy met her husband Paul when he rented an apartment from her mother. They were married on June 23, 1952. Together they raised their seven children. Family was always very important to her and she is very proud of her close knit family.

Dorothy ran a daycare center in Lincoln for many years and later worked for Lincoln Public Schools as a lunch lady. She loved to bake, dance and volunteer at St. Teresa Catholic Church. She loved big band and ballroom music.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Paula (husband Gary) Spielmann, Gayle (husband Bruce) Simpson, Laurie Pinney, Max Brandt, Marlene Brandt, Darwin (wife Kathleen) Brandt and Janelle Brandt; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister Evelyn O’Donnell, and sister-in-law, Irene Teel.

She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Clara Teel, husband Paul Brandt, brothers Willard Teel and Wilmer Teel, sister Rosalie Weskamp, son-in-law Brian D. Pinney and her long time dancing partner Don Culross.

Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at St. Teresa Catholic Church (36th and Randolph) in Lincoln.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 25 at St. Teresa Catholic Church.
