McCOOK, Neb. — The closing of a road and possible solutions to rusting problems in Red Willow County’s jail cells are items on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Red Willow County Commissioners.

The board will meet at 9 a.m. in the commissioners' room on the third floor of the courthouse and, at 9:30 a.m., consider a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Board and a resolution to conduct a public hearing on August 12 regarding the closing of Road 724.

Commissioners will discuss jail repairs via telephone at 10:15 a.m. with Bill Huey of Prochaska & Associates, the original architects of the county’s jail.

Other issues include a letter of support for Great Plains Communication, a meeting with Jordan Garner of Murphy Tractor, a review of a quote from UniFirst for first aid kits, and a budget discussion and allocation of ARPA funds.

As a board of equalization, commissioners will consider a motor vehicle tax exemption application. The consent agenda includes consideration of a declaration of a dishwasher surplus, an interlock bailiff agreement, an agreement with the McCook Humane Society, a county roadway occupancy agreement with the Cambridge Telephone Co., and a liquor license for HoJo’s Hideaway Liquor License.
