McCook 'Y' taking enrollments for fall youth leagues

The Ed Thomas YMCA of McCook is happy to announce that registration is now open for the DHW Energy Youth Volleyball and Midwest Liberty FCU Flag Football leagues.

Divisions will be offered to children Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.

The deadline to register for both leagues is Friday, August 9th. Registration fees are $37 for

YMCA members, and $57 for community members.

Fall league practices will begin the week of August 19th. Practices will be conducted at least once weekly during the season and are scheduled by coaches.

All games will be played on Saturdays beginning September 7th.

Teams will play approximately six games over a seven-week period. No games will be played September 21st (Heritage Days). Flag Football games will be played at the McCook Jr./Sr. High practice fields.

Volleyball games will be played at the YMCA.

“We are excited to continue building on our youth programs and their recent successes,” said Sports Director, Baylor Hellmuth. “Our intent is to provide area youth with an enjoyable experience while learning the fundamentals of the game. We believe that participation in youth sports is critical to the development of young individuals.”

Early enrollment is encouraged as late entries will not be accepted.

Volunteer coaches are needed for the season and team sponsorship opportunities are available for interested businesses. Watch for more details.
