School board set to approve new cell phone policy
McCOOK, Neb. - The McCook Public School’s Board of Education will review and likely approve the student discipline policy, which includes revisions to the student cell phone usage during the school day policy, when they meet on Monday, June 10, for their regular meeting. Members will also attend a retreat on Tuesday where no official board action will be taken.
Superintendent Grant Norgaard will discuss the Summer School Program, which started June 3 and will continue through June 27. The board will receive reports from the various committees and building principals and will approve the Student Handbooks for the 2024-2025 school year.
Members are also likely to approve NSAA bowling as a high school activity, a potential new addition starting during the 2024-2025 school year. Following a survey, it was found that approximately 20 students (in grades 9, 10 and 11) are interested in participating. The local bowling alley, TJ’s Family Fun center, has also shown interest in supporting the program, indicating the potential benefits it could bring.
