McCook No. 1 player wins first 'B' state match, 8-zip

LINCOLN, Neb. — McCook High No. 1 singles player Izzy Clause has set the state tone with an 8-0 opening sweep of Ainsley Foltz from Gretna East in Class B first-round tennis action at Woods Tennis Center today.

Clause raised her record to 36-5 and as the No. 7 seed will meet No. 10 Addison Demuth from Hastings St. Cecilia later today.

DeMuth (24-4) downed Gering's Aria Schneider by an 8-2 final.

Felt advanced to get a shot at Clause with her 8-4 "play in" victory over Hershey's Adrienna Quiroga earlier today.

McCook's other five state tennis players will all face their first state matches today. Watch for more updates and details.
