OGALLALA, Neb. — Junior Reid Loop’s round of 74 powered the McCook Bison into third place among 13 teams at the Ogallala Golf Invitational on Thursday.

Senior Cole Graham and sophomore Landon Kmoch also earned medals in this regular-season finale.

The Bison totaled 328 which trailed only champion Scottsbluff’s 317 and Alliance with 324.

Coach Ben Vetrovsky provided his usual fine insights:

“This was a great tournament to play a few days before districts.

There were multiple schools competing today that we will see on Monday for districts.

I really like how the guys are progressing with their games. Reid Loop played solid all day long and I look forward to seeing how he competes on Monday.

It was nice to see Cole get back into medal contention, and his game is starting to peak at the right time.

Kmoch had a solid day as well and he is eager to play Monday.”

The Bison prevailed over host Ogallala, who finished fourth at 332.

Chadron’s 333 completed the top five though Gering was just one stroke behind.

Chase County totaled 382 for 10th place led by Gavin Wisnieski’s 85, Braxton Chubb at 96 and Kaden Vogt firing a round of 97.
