It's 'Garden Thyme' in McCook
McCOOK Neb.- At Garden Thyme Greenhouse, the seasons come alive through vibrant offerings, ranging from Spring blooms to Fall foliage and festive Christmas delights. Nicole Siebrandt’s dedication shines through in the events and workshops she orchestrates, with popular attractions like greens workshops and DIY wreath-making sessions drawing crowds year-round.
Siebrandt and her husband David returned to the area in 2017, driven by Nicole’s love for gardening, which she nurtured during her time at a Kearney greenhouse. She greatly missed this work and drew inspiration from her former employer, who serves as a mentor.
In 2019, she debuted at the local Farmers Market and the popular Third Thursday event, peddling her quirky ‘Pun Pots’ creations to an enthusiastic audience.
The seeds of success truly blossomed in 2020 when Siebrandt and her husband unveiled Garden Thyme Greenhouse, a beacon of creativity and community engagement. With the community’s unwavering support, Nicole has nurtured her vision of bringing potted plants to downtown McCook in collaboration with the Beautify McCook Group.
With a penchant for plant puns, Nicole’s business name reflects her playful nature and love for all things green. Embracing the ethos of supporting local artisans, she curates pop-up events that showcase diverse talents and foster a sense of community among residents and visitors.
Siebrandt says, “We just want people to shop small, local, and discover the beauty of handmade creations. We aim to bring together individuals from near and far, creating a hub of creativity and connection in McCook.” As ‘Garden Thyme’ continues to flourish under Nicole’s nurturing guidance, it is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and community collaboration.
A ribbon cutting for Garden Thyme Greenhouse was recently celebrated with the McCook Chamber of Commerce, the McCook Cordials, and several community members. Garden Thyme Greenhouse is located at 1312 W J Street in McCook.
