McCook senior golfer wins Wildhorse tourney, team second
GOTHENBURG, Neb. — Before the busy rodeo weekend, McCook senior Cole Graham conquered a Wildhorse Golf Course challenge with his 74 taking first at Thursday’s Gothenburg Invitational.
Sophomore Landon Kmoch took third for his second top five finish in two days. Kmoch and junior Reid Loop led McCook to second at Wednesday’s Ron Coleman Memorial Invite.
Loop reached the top 12 on Thursday with his 81, and McCook’s 314 placed just three strokes from catching champion North Platte’s 311.
Kolton Koetter’s 83 completed the team total while sophomore Trenton Raile shot 88.
“Another solid day for the Bison finishing 2nd at Gothenburg. We had some tough weather conditions with the lower temperatures and wind,” coach Ben Vetrovsky remarked. “Proud of Cole Graham and his efforts on winning the invite. He has worked so hard to get to this point in his career. Landon Kmoch had an awesome two days of golf. Reid struck the ball really well off the tee today, just had some issues on and around the greens. He will continue working on his game and bounce back.”
