School board looking at future improvements

Friday, April 5, 2024

McCOOK Neb. - At the upcoming McCook Public Schools School Board meeting Superintendent Grant Norgaard will highlight recent talks with representatives from Sampson Construction, W Design, and the School District, discussing construction plans for a new junior high building and auditorium and remodeling the performing arts spaces.

These discussions ensure that the building plans meet the district’s needs while remaining cost-conscious. Cost estimates are expected to be discussed during May’s board meeting.

Next year, McCook Public Schools will host an external team visit in March. Several educators from across the state will visit all McCook school sites to discuss our school improvement process.

Students across the school district have begun taking the NSCAS assessments.

The high school has completed its assessments. The ACT and Pre-ACT were administered during the past two weeks.

McCook Elementary School will share its specific school improvement action plan at the School Board Meeting, which is held at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of every month.
