Ballots set for May, November elections

McCOOK, Neb. — Voters will have to choose between candidates in several local races, now that Friday’s filing deadline has passed.

Rose Weskamp and Andy O’Dea are vying for one Subdistrict 1 seat on the Middle Republican Natural Resources District, This race will auto-advance to the General Election.

C. John O’Dea and Shane D. Messersmith will challenge incumbent Randy Dean on the Republican ballot for one District 2 seat on the Red Willow County board of commissioners. The race will be decided in May’s election.

Josiah Hegwood, Kiel Cary and Jackson Dellevoet will challenge incumbents Darcy Rambali and Jerry Calvin for two seats on the McCook City Council, will be on May ballot, top four vote-getters will advance to the General Election.

Brooke Brooks, Duane A. Teter, Jason Kloepping and Derek Meyers are seeking three seats on the Southwest Public Schools board of education.

This race will also auto-advance to the General Election.

This year, voters must have a valid photo ID to cast a vote in person, early, by mail or by-mail special elections.

Nebraska voters may apply early ballot for any reason and may do so up to 120 prior to an election, but regular early-voting ballots are not sent out or accepted until at least 35 days before a primary or general election and 15 days prior to all other elections.
