DC-S boys contain Cambridge while Eagles top Warriors
BENKELMAN, Neb. — Neither team hit a three-pointer, but sharp passing led to huge Dundy County-Stratton baskets during their 47-24 victory over Cambridge Thursday night.
The Tigers (12-3 record) took charge with a 15-8 first quarter, and Cambridge (9-5) actually never scored more than six in a period after that.
Senior Jackson Kerchal was an inside force once again, scoring 15 points and grabbing ning rebounds besides three steals. He also dished out two assists as the Tigers cut through Cambridge’s defense.
Sophomore Lane Bybee netted 14 points mainly on sharp moves to the hoop.
DCS made 21 two-point baskets and finished a solid 43 percent at 21 for 49.
Sophomore guard August Shaw added eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Senior Brodie Rogers mixed in six points with four boards.
Senior Lane Brown and sophomore Dante Horner each tossed in two points.
Brown swiped four steals while Kerchal took three.
No official stats were obtained for the 9-5 Trojans, where no player scored more than seven points.

OXFORD, Neb. — Southern Valley repeated a holiday tournament win over the Warriors Thursday night as Isaac Hamilton and Tyler Grove tossed in 14 points apiece.
Senior Kamden Bose contributed 10 points — seven during the third quarter where those Eagles secured a home win.
Sophomore Kade Fisher was the lone Warrior to reach double figures with 10 points.
Junior Will Cacy scored seven points and Trenton Roskop five.
